I sympathise with Mr Harry Sas of Clevedon. One of the first things I raised when I was elected was that a chap with a little sweeping machine came down the road every week, about 7.00am in the morning, when all the cars were parked in the street. He swept the white line in the middle of the road, did a quick about turn, and swept the white line again going the other way. An exercise in total futility because the gutters were still as clogged up with litter and leaves as they were before he came, and the white line was wearing thin.
I wish we had more people as keen as Mr Sas though. The councillor with responsibility for the environment reckons he's got 33 people picking the litter up, and 33,000 dropping it!
